As we set new intentions for 2019, we reflect on how the universe continues to reveal itself to us. What are the stories being told? How does music help to unveil these stories? Are we more connected? Are we more disconnected? For our third edition of ‘Music in 2018’, we’ve called upon Vivie-Ann of the deeply admired Blond:ish duo to shed some light on the relationship between music and community.
The biggest challenge I saw within the electronic music industry in 2018 was…
How much the TULUM scene grew. It’s out of control. The Tulum ecosystem cannot handle this many ravers in one place in this condensed amount of time, the biggest challenge is how to turn that around or at least make sure the parties that are coming here are coming with the mind set to be more sustainable and minimize their plastics use and also give back to the land and its people —- but also to the ravers coming to be sensitive to their surroundings and minimize their footprint and be mindful of their consumption and have some care for the environment. This can be applied to the rest of the world as well 😉 We are huge consumers in the electronic music scene. We need to find ways to minimize that and be a part of the circular loop of life.
The biggest question that has been on my mind lately is…
How can I combine music to really connect the world? How can I keep planting seeds in my music to support this fact? How can I do my part in improving the state of humanity with my music?
We are huge consumers in the electronic music scene. We need to find ways to minimize that and be a part of the circular loop of life.
5 years from now, I’d like to see the industry evolve in the following ways…
Music is in all of us. I would love our industry to move away from some ego practices and more into the heart space, connecting with music on much deeper levels, which club culture has some limitations on currently.
The most important lesson I learned in 2018 is…
How to be grateful.
What true happiness means.
How to ask the right questions to the universe that lead you to the answers to create your own reality.

How to embrace change!
We are change!
One thing besides music that keeps me inspired in this world is…
My nephew Zach and his creative brain – and all the children of this world. They have all the answers! They are the present and the future.
