On March 14, one of our favourite music collectives; All Blak gears up for the release of their third VA compilation. Subliminal showcases various artists whose sounds have become synonymous with the Toronto-based label. Packed with deep, groovy bass lines and minimal undertones that suggest much more, “subliminal” is exactly how we’d describe this one.
Comprised of six originals, Subliminal features label partners Paul Quzz with a deep, sexy bass roller and Steve Marto who lays down a moody, percussive-charged hymn. All Blak frequenter Devv comes through with a laid-back tech house groover, while Argentinian-based producer Trentz picks the energy up with his use of quirky, minimal nuances and soulful pads. Also joining the crew is Berlin’s Izzy Demzky and Barcelona’s Cleave Martinez to showcase their unique sounds. Want a taste of what to expect? Listen to our premiere of Izzy Demzky’s “Listen Later” here:
“Listen Later” appears at #5 on the compilation track list. Izzy Demzky’s subtle use of vocals and jazzy chords give the track a flirtatious, playful vibe, while maintaining its tech house roots. The track seamlessly moves between moments of deep, groove to upbeat breaks, creating a sultry atmosphere. Grab your copy of “Listen Later” via All Blak Records on March 14.
