Moscow Noir Teams Up with Toronto’s Talal & Zoi for ‘Odisea’

“Odisea meaning ‘The Odyssey’ in Spanish, is the exploration of the inner-self and its relationship with the physical and non-physical universe.” Toronto’s brilliant Moscow Noir have been pushing boundaries, exploring philosophical ideas through their music since 2015. In just a few short years, this electronica-rock band has already reached impressive heights.

Last summer, their self-titled EP stormed the charts in Canada and the US, landing at #1 on iTunes Electronic Album and #2 on Billboard Electronic Album. But music isn’t the only art form that they’ve mastered. This past April, the band released their dazzling music video for ‘Odisea’.

Set to the opening track off their album, the video was directed and animated by frontman and Producer, Lesther Gutierrez and features stunning visuals! Pieced together by intricate, black and white animations, which continually collapse and morph into one another, ‘Odisea’ contrasts the concept of human spirituality and its relationship with science.

Always keeping an ear to the ground, the band has recently partnered up with several of Toronto’s finest producers to unveil a remix album, set to drop any day now. We here at Godzilla Disco were fortunate enough to snag one of these remixes by the illustrious duo Talal & Zoi.  Listen below, as the pair expertly warp ‘Odisea’ into into a deeper upbeat track, more suited for the dance floor. Talal & Zoi maintain Odisea’s out-of-world essence with twinkling synths and atmospheric effects, while adding a subtle, groovy bassline that’s just enough to make your hips shake. Stretching it out to nearly 5 minutes, Talal & Zoi deliver an exciting remix to an already stunning original by Moscow Noir.

But wait. The news gets better. On Friday, June 23 Moscow Noir will take to the stage at Revival Bar to share brand new material they’ve been cooking up in the studio, ahead of their first feature length album. Joining them will be opening band Late Night Conversations, followed by DJ sets from Alberto Jossue and Lost Boy (one half of Talal & Zoi). We’re going to place some bets and preemptively say there’s a good chance you may hear ‘Odisea’ (Talal & Zoi Remix) at some point in the night 😉
