This Memorial Day weekend, over one hundred thousand music enthusiasts will gather at Detroit’s legendary Hart Plaza for another astounding edition of Movement Electronic Music Festival.  Those who aren’t fortunate enough to attend will still have the ability to tune in and hear sets from their favourite artists, thanks to a brand new initiative on behalf of Red Bull Music Academy.

Since its launch as “Detroit Electronic Music Festival” back in 2000, the festival has evolved tremendously and this year, we can enjoy another new feature. For the very first time, Movement Electronic Music Festival has partnered with Red Bull Music Academy to deliver a new radio live stream broadcast, which will be available free exclusively on RBMAradio.com. Listeners will be able to tune in to selected artists’ sets from this weekend’s festival and enjoy the music, as if they were right inside the festival grounds (okay, maybe not quite — but you can close your eyes and pretend).

For the past eight years, Red Bull Music Academy has played a significant role at Movement, infusing new acts to the festival, while showcasing groundbreaking artists. Each year, Red Bull Music Academy works in conjunction with the festival to curate an impressive stage during the festival and this year is no different. This year’s RBMA Stage lineup includes a headlining performance by chart-topping duo Disclosure as part of their traveling Wild Life showcase, featuring Method Man, Octave One and Kerri Chandler, just to name a few.

The live stream will “celebrate the sounds of Detroit”, combining live streams from the RBMA stage including performances from Ben UFO, Method Man and Detroit’s own Danny Brown. In addition, listeners will have access to archived content such as Fireside Chats from Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, and Carl Craig, as well as mixes from Kyle Hall, Rick Wilhite, Los Hermanos and more throughout the weekend. Viewers can expect a full live stream schedule at RBMAradio.com starting Friday, May 22nd.
