The #TourChronicles Ft. Tube & Berger

From a small, industrial town in Germany to the stages of Tomorrowland and Loveweek Festival, Arndt Roerig and Marko Vidovic known to most of us as Tube & Berger have witnessed their love of music take form in just about every setting you could think of. They’ve  dabbled in the world of punk, they’ve spearheaded the vocal-laden lands of Deep House, their label Kittball Records has tipped numerous charts, and don’t even get us started on ‘Set It Off’. On Friday, March 2, the duo will take to the decks at Toronto’s underground safe-house, taking CODA’s dance floor for a spin. But first, we caught up with the guys to bring you the next installment of the #TourChronicles.

The biggest myth about ‘life on tour’ is…
that it’s not as glamorous as most people think. Endless waiting, lousy food and funky smells are always on the agenda.

The best airport for a long lay-over is …
The Turkish Airlines lounge in Istanbul is great. Dubai airport has a lot of cool stuff to offer, which no one really needs. Also, the real wild ones could gamble away their fees in Amsterdam’s airport casino.

Name one new city that you haven’t played, but would like to visit in 2018…
Surprisingly we’ve never been to Poland even though it’s right next door. We’ve never been to Hawaii and it’s definitely on the list as well. Pjöngjang, Kabul or the Vatican would be interesting too. Actually, there are countless places we still want to visit!

The best part about touring as a duo is…
That there’s always someone you can hang out with and also share the costs.

One of our favourite venues in the world to play is…
There’s not a clear winner here, for example we liked playing Tomorrowland just as much as Revolver in Melbourne or So Track Boa in Brazil.

This hotel has the BEST food / room service…
Althoff Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg, after seeing the premises we were wondering if they would call us “your grace “or “your lordship”. They didn’t, but still an awesome place.

Where is the weirdest place you’ve been given a demo?
Not a special place, but once a guy sent a demo and attached a video of him doing an exceptional dance choreography on it.

True or False: We’ve been asked for an autograph while on a plane.

What is on your rider?
43 Black Oyster Plant Ale
1 Big Bottle of Ol’ Grandpas finest Grog
17 Towels

Besides your gig at CODA on March 2, we will try to do this while in Toronto…
Get hammered. No seriously, we want to catch a glimpse of the Niagara falls and check out the CN tower.

Our favourite city to after-party in is…

Tell us one of your favourite experiences with an opening or closing DJ.
Someone before us was playing our tunes and gave us a high 5 🙂

“Life on tour” has taught us…
… It could be worse!
